Dinner on the Ave

04.25.09
As I was courteously reminded by my sister tonight, I have not been doing a good job on updating the blog. And truly my only excuse is lack of time, because I certainly have stuff to talk about and pictures to post....so here I am trying to get a quick post in tonight...and hopefully I will have some time tomorrow to add some more updates. So, to catch up on last weekends events, I had mentioned that we went to Dinner on the Ave, which is a really fun Winter Park Fundraiser Event which our friends Liz and Zander have invited us to the past few years. How it works is that everyone has a table with about 8 seats, you set a theme for the table the decorates accordingly and wear related costumes. Of course I LOVE this because it gives me the excuse once a year to get out my craft box and have some fun. This year our theme was fairy tales and so we all dressed up as different characters and I created an enchanted forest tree for the table. Liz and Zander where Hansel and Gretal, Ashley and Ty were Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, Kelly was Alice in Wonderland, Damon was the Mad Hatter, and I was the Ace of Spades. I was originally going to go as the Queen of Hearts, and my friend Kelly gave me an adorable costume to borrow...unfortunately, when my 16 week pregnant self tried it on I looked more like cased sausage then a cute little queen....so hiding behind two pieces of foam board sounded more appealing. The other unfortunate costume mishap we had, was that Kelly had also lent us a wonderful Mad Hatter costume, but in our last minute scurry to get out of the house we left his character defining hat sitting on the bathroom counter at home. Anyways....here are some of the pictures from the evening. We had a blast as always, although I was disappointed that I was too tired to make it out to the after party, but what can I say I was pregnant and sick ; )
