04.12.09 (Happy Easter)
Well, because I waited until we had announced that we were pregnant to everyone and then a couple of weeks because I have been so busy...I haven't been creating regular posts. I figured I would have a quick catch up post to fill everyone in on what has been going on regarding the pregnancy. Today I am about 15 1/2 weeks and finally beginning to show...although I would say I am definitely still in that odd pregnancy stage where you just look like you've eating a couple too many cheeseburgers. I really look forward to the legitimate bump ; ) During our last doctor's appointment on 3/30/09 my belly measured 11 cm and the baby's heart rate was 160. That was the visit where we got to actually hear the heartbeat, which is pretty neat - kind of like galloping horses. We have two appointments coming up in a few weeks - 1 check in at the doctor's on 4/28 and our big ultrasound on 5/1. We are still not sure if we are going to find out the sex or not. We are torn between the idea of the big surprise and our overwhelming desire to plan everything ; )
Overall, I have been pretty lucky throughout the pregnancy. Although I am breaking out like a thirteen year old going through puberty, I have not had any morning sickness. Unfortunately, last summer I was diagnosed with costochrondritis, which is supposed to be an acute ailment, but is proving to be much more chronic than I would like. Since I became pregnant I have had a lot more recurrent flair ups, which are horrendous and makes me feel as if I am having a heart attack (terrible chest pain and shooting pain down my left arm and by my shoulder blade). The unfortunate thing with this condition is that because I am pregnant I cannot take any of the medications that they recommend or prescribe. It is just 2 Tylenol and lots of inappropriate language and tears. Luckily the bouts seem to last only a couple of days and have decreased significantly in intensity and frequency since I stopped picking up anything heavy - which sadly includes my nephews : ( But, besides that and the typical bouts of fatigue...I really can't complain; pregnancy has been good to me.
Oh, you poor girl! I had no idea you had that health problem :( But, you are lucky to be having an easy pregnancy. My skin has also reverted back to it's pre-pubescent days. Fun! Can't wait to hear more about everything!
ReplyDeletei'm pretty sure bellies are measured in cm's not inches. and it's kind of confusing that you don't have the date enabled on your posts :-/
ReplyDeleteand yeh, the not picking up nephews thing? sucks.
