Pictures of the baby!

05.01.2009
Today we went for our big ultra sound with the Maternal Fetal Medicine department, to rule out being a high risk pregnancy and to see the baby! It was amazing. We couldn't believe how much movement we could see and how real this would become. Damon and I have been on the fence as to whether or not we would find out the sex of the baby. We find ourselves stuck between the desire to plan and the excitement of the big surprise. Damon also felt that it would help him connect better to the baby, but after seeing our little one on the screen, we didn't have trouble connecting at all, so we decided to wait to find out the sex. The only difficult part of that was when the technician said "I know what it is". I think it is always hard for someone else to know and not yourself, but the way I look at it is right now if we saw her again tomorrow, she would probably not even remember which sex it was. As for the baby's health, everything looks great! The baby was active on screen and even waving to us : ) The doctor said this is a good sign because often when the baby was still or has its hands in fists that can be a sign that the baby is sick. Right now the baby weighs 8 oz and we are right in line with our expected due date: October 1, 2009. We are so excited and I cannot stop looking at the pictures! It is amazing to think that in 4 1/2 short months we will be holding our little one.
