Bye bye pin stripe and hello crib!

07.22.2009
Today has been a busy day! The crib that we wanted from Ikea has been out of stock for what seems like forever. The woman I spoke to said that they had some on order, but didn't know when they expected the order to fill. I checked other stores and it turns out that not one Ikea in all the U.S. had the crib in stock, so I began to worry that we may not be able to get the crib we wanted nursery. Last night before bed I randomly checked to see if it was in and it was! So I sent Damon down this morning while I was at work to pick it up. We set it up tonight after I got home and are very happy with it. It is very simple, but that is all we need. It is the Gulliver model in white. It is pretty crazy though having the crib in the nursery now. The whole thing feels a lot more real : ) Also, I was looking at my sister's post the other day and realized that I am buying a crib that looks identical to the crib my mom bought for my older sister (her first)...kind of funny. Check out the picture of my mom next to the crib - and while you are there don't forget to register for my sister's contest. Also, Damon and I were able to get the pin stripe off ourselves. We first began by using a hair dryer to heat the adhesive off (we got directions online) but soon realized I could peal it off easier just using my nails. After we pealed it off we went back with Goo Off to get any remnants of the glue and then sponged it down with soap and water. We also took off the dealer badge. The car looks sooo much nicer now! I don't understand why they put it on there in the first place - it just makes the car look cheaper. Also, tomorrow Damon is taking the car to be tinted. He got a good deal with a reputable guy in town. I can't wait to see how it turns out! We are really happy so far with our purchase! I'll post pictures as soon as we get the tint completed.
