In the past two weeks there have been lots of big changes for Brodie. This past weekend (7/31-8/1) we transitioned Brodie from bottle to sippy cup for most of his formula (we still give him a bottle for bedtime) and he has begun eating almost all big boy food. This weekend he had french toast for breakfast, grilled cheese and turkey for lunch, and meatballs for dinner. Not to mention snacks of cheese, peaches, bananas, cereal, and bread. Starting Monday at school he also transitioned over to the big boy menu. No more baby food for Brodie. In fact, for the most part he doesn't even want it (of course this happens right after I stock up again).
Our other big change is that he now wears shoes to school. In the toddler room (which he will transition to in 1 month....eek!) they have to wear shoes, so their last month in the infant room the teachers ask that they start trying out the sneakers. He looks like such a big kid with shoes on it's amazing! He didn't like them when I first put them on, but he seems to be doing just fine in them.
Additionally, Brodie is standing more often on his own without holding on to anything. And this past Sunday (8/1) while at my sister's celebrating her bday, Brodie took his first step!!! Yes, only one step, but still - pretty big news for us! : ) I can't even get my head wrapped around the fact that he will be 1 next month! Aahhh!
